I often ask my clients – Do you walk into your favorite restaurant and tell the waiter “Just bring me the cheapest thing on the menu, it doesn’t really matter what it is, price is most important”? Galveston Fog January 8 2012

At the time of this writing, the port of Galveston has been closed due to heavy fog. Carnival Magic and Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas are being delayed in their return back to Galveston. On those ships, passengers are waiting (in most cases sadly) for their cruise to come to a close. Have you ever what happens if you cannot get off your ship? Those ships should have docked early this morning. The passengers should be well on their way home or to the airport in Houston. Because of the delay, those passengers are basically stuck.

I was surfing around the net where I can across a forum where the participants were conducting a poll entitled “What splurges are worthwhile?” The overwhelming winner based on this non-scientific poll was travel. The question I have for you is should you splurge on travel?

I guess this depends on your definition of splurge. Is it something that simply adds to your enjoyment of life? Or is it anything that doesn’t fall in the category of “Our lives depend on it?” I realize that even last category could be pretty broad. It might not mean you’d die, but that your lives would be seriously impacted in some way without it. I don’t think there can be a universal definition. What one person considers a splurge another considers essential.

We are taking our second Disney Cruise on Disney Dream. This four day cruise departs from Port Canaveral and visits Nassau in the Bahamas and Castaway Cay. It also includes a day at sea.
