Every person CAN make a difference
This video featuring a CNN Hero named Narayanan Krishman came up on one my friend’s Facebook pages recently. Since I had just written a post about the death of one of my Meals on Wheels clients, it really resonated with me. Now I know I write about travel and cruises and our trips and don’t mean to get preachy. However I feel that my rewards and station in life come specifically because I believe in helping others who cannot help themselves. Here is the video that shows that truly every person CAN make a difference.
Meals on Wheels
Last December, I wrote a little bit about how my business came about due to an Inspiration from Volunteering. Our local Volunteer Aging Council recently held its Tropical Gala and showed this video that explains a little about the Meals on Wheels program. They asked me to take part and one of my client’s agreed to be interviewed for the video.
There are so many organizations out there looking for help in some way. If you cannot give in a monetary fashion, there are so many who would appreciate the gift of your time.
Make the most of your next fundraising effort
Did you know it is possible to make the most of your next fundraising effort by holding a fundraising cruise? Cruises offer exciting destinations from Alaska to Europe to the Caribbean which will increase your chances of heighten attendance and with no extra financial investment on your part.
There are many different ways to use a cruise in your fundraising efforts, whether it’s through silent auctions, ticket sales, raffles, or promoting a fundraising group. One of the most popular types of groups sailing on today’s cruise ships are those designed around a fundraising theme. If your church group, club or nonprofit organization is looking for a different yet fun-filled way to make money, you may want to consider a group cruise for your next fundraiser.
Inspiration from Volunteering

I had been a volunteer firefighter in Cypress, Texas before beginning our journey from coast to coast that had us moving six times between 2000 and 2006. I honestly missed giving to my community. For over two years, I had been driving my daughter to her gymnastics class going right past the Cherokee County Senior Services facility. On the bottom of that sign, there is a smaller sign that reads “Meals on Wheels – Volunteers NEEDED” and a phone number.
