Missed Hubbard Glacier Calving

Many of my greatest travel memories have been captured with my digital camera. I can go back and look at those pictures again and again and relive those memories. On the other hand, I have been at times so focused on looking at the LCD screen or through the viewfinder, I have missed living in the moment.

Shore Excursion Ideas for Photographers

Could you use some shore excursion ideas for photographers that you know? A cruise is a terrific vacation choice for anyone who loves photography. Shore excursions also provide unique photo opportunities – in fact, some excursions are designed with photography buffs in mind.

Whales don't read law books

without comments

There is a federal law that states that no vessel may approach closer than 100 yards to a humpback whale. However there is nothing in the law that says you cannot position your vessel over a 100 yards away and cut the engine. That’s just what happened when we went out with Captain Larry of Orca Enterprises when we stopped in Juneau on our first Alaskan Cruise.

We had several recommendations for Captain Larry so we booked him site unseen several months in advance. The office was just across the street from the pier. Literally we could see the storefront from our veranda. Talk about convenient!
