What if there is an emergency back home

without comments

Before a recent cruise, one of my clients asked me “What if there is an emergency back home?” This client went on to ask how back home could get in touch with her or how she could get in touch with them. It is a question that seldom comes up, but the answer is good to know if even for a bit of nickel knowledge.

We just wanted to pass on some of the latest info about ground transportation in Chile in light of the earthquake. We know at this time of the year Chile is a popular cruising beginning and ending point for cruises around the horn of South America. Their sources have advised that the area around Santiago is experiencing fuel shortages, thus affecting the availability and price of taxis. What if travel insurance was mandatory?

without comments

Did you know the costs of medical treatment and/or evacuation back to your home country from the Caribbean can cost $30K? Repatriation of a body if there is a death while abroad can cost $75K or more. You can plan your cruise vacation down to the color of the flip-flops you’ll wear, but there is always a chance something unforeseen could occur. Coverage for the cost of your trip is important as even though you can’t do anything to prevent an unexpected storm from canceling your cruise, you can do something to help cover your travel investment by purchasing a travel insurance and assistance plan for your next trip.
