Our cruise is a day away
I have been writing so much in recent days about our upcoming dad and daughter cruise, yet I realized that I have not shared where we are going. Tomorrow, we will be boarding Crown Princess for a seven night cruise from Fort Lauderdale. After a day at sea on Sunday, we will be tendering at Grand Cayman on Monday. Should the weather hold and we actually get to get onto the island, we will be swimming with the Sting Rays out at Sting Ray City. On Tuesday, we stop at the island of Roatan, Honduras where I will be watching my daughter zipline through the jungle.
The Ultimate Dad and Daughter Dance
Howdy, Chuck here! In actuality, it is I who write all of these blog entries though it is my wife and I who own The Flagg Agency! It is hard to remember to writing in the plural and not keep switching case when it is the royal “we” who write about our love of cruising.
When cruising went mainstream
The year was 1977 and during that fall a new show was broadcast on ABC. Its theme song is now etched into the country’s collective mind. The idea was that love could be found, mended or enhanced by a cruise ship experience. The Love Boat brought cruising into the mainstream of America. Week after week (on a Saturday night no less), the country was drawn in by the cast of Gopher, Julie, Isaac, Doc and the Captain and the “cruising” guest stars.
