We ride the tender away from Celebrity Infinity

We are on the tender leaving Celebrity Infinity

You probably think I am crazy to be in the business of selling cruises to title a blog entry, “Nobody needs a cruise”. However, I am a realist and know that title and statement are completely true. However, I do happen to believe in a few other fundamental truths as well:

Every body needs to relax

Every body needs to relax

The adage is true…take half the clothes and twice the cash!

It’s a common question I get from time to time. Just what do I pack for a cruise? I thought I would share some random thoughts about this important topic.

Shakespeare once wrote that ‘Brevity is the Soul of Wit!’ Well less clothes on a cruise makes for a happier vacation. Clothes storage space in your stateroom is likely to be limited. In addition, it’s no fun to lug lots of baggage to the pier. Fortunately, while there has always been a certain elegance about cruising, it’s become a more casual type of vacation, even on luxury ships. That means you can probably get by with fewer clothes, and no one will raise an eyebrow if you wear the same thing twice.

Mom?…what can we do off the ship?

cruise_ship_family270In yesterday’s entry, a guest shared why she felt cruising makes the perfect family vacation. I wanted to add to that there are some exciting adventures available, once you get to a port of call.  Cruise lines offer a variety of shore excursions – planned, guided tours and activities – to help guests make the most of their time on shore. Some excursions – such as wine tastings, gourmet cooking classes or arduous climbs – are suitable only for adults. But, plenty are family-friendly, perfect for kids and parents to share.

The difference between a travel seller and a travel counselor

Images like the above are all over the internet, especially when it comes to travel sales. Unless you are looking at prices every single day, how do you really know you are getting a good “Hot Deal”, “Sale”, or “WOW!”? More importantly, how do you know you are getting a good value. I wanted to take a minute and let you know there are several different ways you can choose to purchase your next vacation. For the purposes of this entry, however, I am just going to concentrate on two different types.
