I wait all night for calls like these
Hey hello there, how’s it going?
I know I have promised to write more, but I have been busy. I know we are all, but I need to get better about keeping you up to date.
Since we last talked, I decided on a cell phone. I went with the Motorola Q9h Global from AT&T. I wanted 3G and the ability to use it around the world. I signed up for a low minute plan to begin, but I am sure I will be adding to my minutes.
I'll be ready when my feet touch ground
Sorry for the lack of updates, this thing called summer is getting in my way. I had another talk with the general manager for franchise relations on Friday to get more of my questions answered. We are moving forward to my purchase by mid-July.
I am now spending time researching mobile phone options. I have been leaning to the new iPhone coming out on July 11th. It is either that or a Moto Q. I need to go hold them both in my hand before making a decision. Of course with Bluetooth, it is not that critical how it feels, but sometimes my ear piece is not charged. I am just very interested in 3G instead of EDGE.
You'll need the tools for survival
Today I headed down to the county to pay $60 to obtain a county business license. They have our company name and home address. They also stamped it with “HOME OCCUPATION”. I feel better knowing my home is occupied. I wonder if the troop numbers will increase.
I continue to watch the price of oil and the downward plunge of the stock market and wonder if we are making the correct decision. The economic news continues to be dire and here we are about to open a business that deal with discretionary income. It is funny though just about every connection I talk to is thinking about, has gone, or is getting ready to go on a cruise.
With lots of money in the bank
I spent part of the afternoon visiting different banks. I want to do a comparison of what it costs to open a business checking account. The competition is so stiff that I am finding “free” business checking is available. In a business that will not generate income for 15-18 months because of the way the cruise lines pay commission, I want to be sure what income I have is not eaten away in various fees.
We are going to be infusing our franchise with a personal loan. We want to have a separate account so when it comes tax time, we can show we didn’t try to justify school supplies using business money.
