An amazing January…thank you
Today is Wednesday, February 1, 2012. I wanted to stop for a moment and thank you for an amazing January. My readers. my clients, and my friends who have all been a part of this journey. This entry will be a bit more personal than usual. I hope you won’t mind reading. It has been a busy and long month of personal triumph and tragedy for my industry. As I did before, I must pause to take time to remember those victims of the sinking of Costa Concordia.
The month started on a hugely positive note when my daughter brought home a report card with all A’s. Laura and I are so proud of her. On the morning of January 13th, 2012, I was in high spirits as quotes by me had been featured in the print edition of USA Today. My business really took off having quotes in a national newspaper. Of course, we all know about the news from that night. I was featured again in USA Today online about my thoughts on cruise sales and prices the following Monday and was also quoted for a local news report here in Atlanta.
My business has continued to grow with cruise sales, and now I have access to an international concierge which has allowed my land vacation business to grow as well. It truly has been a great month and for that I again thank you.
The news I am most proud to share is that at the annual meeting of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce I was selected as Chamber Volunteer of the Year. I was not able to attend the meeting due to a prior commitment. It is because of my involvement with my chamber that my business has grown as much as it has. I will be receiving the actual award tomorrow. Serving my community either through my Chamber involvement or through the Meals on Wheels program is where I have the most pride. Giving to others has given back so much to me personally and professionally.
