Day 6 Eurodam Fall 2011
Happy Thursday to you! We are enjoying Day 6 of our fall 2011 Holland America m/s Eurodam cruise. As mentioned before, we are taking part in the Cruise Holidays’ convention at sea. This morning we chose to sleep in and take a day off from the option activities. As such, we get a chance to post an almost live blog!
At 11:30 this morning, we have been invited to a Champagne lunch with the Master of the vessel with other members of the Mariner Society. After that, the meetings will continue at 3pm in The Mainstage. We then have dinner reservations in Tamarind with other franchisees tonight with other franchisees. Laura and I are really looking forward to it.
You may have followed along with our blog last February when my daughter I cruise on Eurodam. It is an entirely different experience when cruising with my spouse. For one, I don’t have to stop the tv channels when it comes to the Cartoon Network. I also don’t have to wait for a glass elevator since someone wants to ride just those. I can savor my dinner without rushing through because someone is getting bored. However, I miss my daughter terribly. She thinks her dad is pretty darn cool for taking her on the number of trips she has experienced.
Back to this cruise, I wanted to share two of the best benefits of cruising with Holland America. Number One is the Stateroom Direct program now found on all ships of the fleet. This program was created after studying how Alaska Airlines were able to turn their airplanes around the fastest in the airline industry. After discussions with the stateroom stewards responsible, all staterooms are now ready for guests the minute you start boarding (in most cases that is 11:30 a.m local time). You can go direct to your stateroom and drop off your luggage. You do not have to drag around your carry on to the Buffet and hold a plate while trying to get food. There are no fire doors blocking your path to the staterooms or waiting around until 1 or 1:30 in the afternoon.
One of the other benefits of sailing with Holland America is the ability to order a full hot breakfast from room service. For most mornings, we have started our day staring at the sea from our balcony while enjoying a wonderful breakfast delivered promptly in the time frame we have selected. We have enjoyed the time alone and plan to order it again before the cruise ends. Want to know one other benefit? You can even order hot room service breakfast on the last day of your cruise.
So when do you want to enjoy the benefits of a Holland America cruise? We can help you with that. If you have questions about our current cruise, please leave a comment. Be sure to subscribe to our blog so you can get the latest post the moment we publish it.

Scott: Due to what would become Hurricane Sean, we had some rough seas the first night and in between St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay. Our last night was a bit bumpy, but I never saw them put out the sea sick bags. Thank you so much for following along with our cruise!
