Talking about cruises on twitter – #cruisetalk
So what is #cruisetalk? It is the official twitter party we host to take questions from consumers under our twitter name @theflaggagency every other Tuesday at 9pm Eastern. It is fast moving and you won’t want to miss it. It is six questions in sixty minutes and you are invited to participate. We talk about all things cruise from ships to ports, destinations and shore excursions. If you are on twitter, we invite you to join. We talk with consumers and answer their questions about cruising.
Twas a few days before Christmas
With apologies to Clement Moore:
‘Twas a few days before Christmas
And all through the ship
Passengers were dreaming
Of their long awaited trip
Their plans had been made
with great thought and care
By using a cruise consultant
Extraordinaire!
When planning a cruise
or maybe a Caribbean all-inclusive
T’is follow to plan
With websites elusive
For a small cost to you
When sailing the seas
Use an agent you know
Who has great expertise!
Be snug and secure
When counting the days
That you’re in the care
Of Cruise Holidays!
Every person CAN make a difference
This video featuring a CNN Hero named Narayanan Krishman came up on one my friend’s Facebook pages recently. Since I had just written a post about the death of one of my Meals on Wheels clients, it really resonated with me. Now I know I write about travel and cruises and our trips and don’t mean to get preachy. However I feel that my rewards and station in life come specifically because I believe in helping others who cannot help themselves. Here is the video that shows that truly every person CAN make a difference.
A Southerner does not want an Iceman around anyhow
There is about a 1/4″ of the ice glaze covering our patio and patio furniture. Today in Cherokee County, GA we are now starting to move about after a long evening and night of freezing rain and icing conditions. The freezing rain started right as rush hour was beginning which for many this meant a 3-4 hour drive home to go 20-30 miles. Apparently the entire Atlanta metro has but one sand and salt truck. I wonder if many of you reading are laughing to yourselves right now. That is ok, I don’t think there is anyone reading who has ever lost control on ice is sharing in the laughter. In other parts of the country, the road crews and the residents are used to these types of conditions in the winter. However a Southerner does not want an Iceman around anyhow.
The downside of Meals on Wheels
Today I unfortunately experienced the downside of being a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels, and it made me quite sad.
As I do every Monday morning at 10:30, I arrived at Cherokee County Senior Services in Georgia to pick up hot meals for my assigned route. I happen to have six stops on my route where I deliver nine meals. There will be times when a client has a doctor’s appointment and their name will be scratched off my route sheet. Many times the coolers have been prepared before the route sheets for the day are confirmed. Extra meals get delivered to someone else along the route.
