There is about a 1/4″ of the ice glaze covering our patio and patio furniture. Today in Cherokee County, GA we are now starting to move about after a long evening and night of freezing rain and icing conditions. The freezing rain started right as rush hour was beginning which for many this meant a 3-4 hour drive home to go 20-30 miles. Apparently the entire Atlanta metro has but one sand and salt truck. I wonder if many of you reading are laughing to yourselves right now. That is ok, I don’t think there is anyone reading who has ever lost control on ice is sharing in the laughter. In other parts of the country, the road crews and the residents are used to these types of conditions in the winter. However a Southerner does not want an Iceman around anyhow.
