Did you know that when planning a cruise vacation, going solo at your computer could cost you? It could not only cost you in terms of dollars but also could cost you in terms of a nightmare vacation experience.
The graphic above represents images i saw recently on a variety of travel agent and supplier websites. After a while, they are start to blend together don’t they? If you do like to plan your entire vacation, are you asking all of the right questions? Can you read deck plans? What will you do when you get to the ports? What happens if there is a disruption to your itinerary or even your getting back to the port on time?
Did you buy travel insurance and not only that, the right insurance? This week alone 10 ships, carrying 30,000 people, changed their itinerary because of Hurricane Earl. If some of those people booked and pre-paid private vendors for shore excursions, they might not be able to get their money refunded. Do you have all of the proper documentation needed for your cruise? Did you book the right ship on the right sailing date at a rate for which you do not qualify?
What about the cruise itself? Did you pick the lowest price but spent more than you planned because so many options were not included in your ticket price? Will the cruise be right for your family? How are the children’s clubs? Is the entertainment appropriate for your children or would only your grandmother approve? Did you pay more for a three day cruise when the same stateroom on a four day cruise was a better value?
