One of thee days I will again visit Pompeii. One of the greatest memories of our Western Mediterranean cruise was our stop at Naples and our visit to Pompeii. This 15 acre complex was devastated by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
Even today, concerts and other events are presented in the amphitheater. In October, 1971, Pink Floyd recorded three songs live without an audience.
If you ever get a chance to visit, take the time to explore the remains of Roman life. You can get there on a visit to Italy by land or even on a Mediterranean cruise. One of these days I will again visit Pompeii, and my hope is you will get a chance as well!
