Why would I pay a travel agent a fee
Here’s a question I receive from time to time: “Why would I pay a travel agent a fee when I can get all of the information I am seeking for free?” Allow me to take the time to explain that we do not charge a booking fee. Our clients pay us a fee for the professional services we provide them.
There are hundreds of places you can go online to get information about your travel plans, but there are very few that offer the knowledge of what is the right vacation for you and your family. Those purveyors of information and review sites also differ in one big way. Not one of those reviewers and opinion givers are willing to stake their professional reputation on what you may read. After an extensive interview process, we give our clients our advice on the best travel experience for them and their family. We do stake our professional opinion on our advice. We do not operate a high volume sales operation. We give each of our clients the attention we know they deserve. As such, we do not take on every client who calls.
We are offering a shopping experience that you cannot get anywhere else. You may find the same product offered by someone else and maybe with some kind of discount, but many times it will be the exact same price for that product. What you don’t get elsewhere is our commitment and service to you, our client. We have relationships not only with the cruise lines, but individual tour operators in various ports. As an example, imagine stepping off your ship after the thundering herd has left, going to the same beach as everyone else, but you have reserved lounge chairs and an umbrella in a prime location. We can arrange that because of our relationships with the manager of that location.
I understand that you want the cheapest deal, it is human nature. However, when you are spending the equivalent of a paycheck on your vacation, I have just one question to ask you. How cheap does a bad vacation have to be to make it okay? We want our clients to know that we have their best interest in mind because we want you to come back gushing about your recent trip. We don’t want you disappointed. If there is a failure of a supplier or vendor, we will be your advocate to get it fixed. We want you to tell everyone about that trip, and we hope you will tell others about the service we provided for you.
We know that you may still be asking yourself “Why would I pay a travel agent a fee?”, but we hope we have given you some reasons why we believe an investment in us for your cruise vacation plans would be money well spent. We look forward to serving you and your family soon.
