From Fairbanks to Denali by rail
It was an early morning as we had all our bags outside our hotel room by 7:15. We ate a quick breakfast of bagels and cream cheese and fruit purchased from Fred Meyer the night we arrived. It was a quick hop on the bus to the train depot and it was on the Wilderness Express south to the depot at Denali National Park.
Always ask a local where to eat
When you are a tourist and are looking for a good meal, one credo applies: always ask a local where to eat. After returning from our long day, we thought about dining at the restaurant at the Wedgewood Lodge. We were coming downstairs and there happen to be one of the shuttles that can take you around the property. It had been a long day and we said sure we will take a ride.
