It is 10 pm yet it looks like it is dusk

Welcome to Fairbanks where it is 10 p.m. yet it looks like dusk. This is summer in Alaska, 21 days since the summer solstice.
We are at the Wedgewood resort and my watch tells it is 2 a.m. “Sunset” was about half an hour ago, yet they tell me at the front desk that it will be more like a bright dusk now for about and hour and a half and the sun will rise again.
