Some thoughts on Roatan
This evening we are headed to Cozumel, Mexico. As the seas are a bit bumpy this evening, I thought I would share some thoughts on Roatan.
I have a new favorite girlfriend in the Caribbean and her name is Roatan. If the end of Shawshank Redemption had involved a plane instead of a car ride down the Pacific coast, Andy would have ended up on a beach on Roatan. For miles and miles, this gorgeous beach stretched away from the West Bay. In my mind’s eye, I could see Andy working on his boat while Red strolled up to see his friend.
Zipline adventure in Roatan
We are in Roatan, Honduras today onboard Crown Princess. The Chad got to go ziplining for the first time in her life. She said it was the best day EVER. I will have a more detailed report later this evening.
I am getting ready to shower, have dinner and then drop The Chad off at the kid’s club. Look for a more detailed review this evening or by tomorrow morning! Thanks for cruising virtually with us.
The Princess Cruises Experience
Let me tell you a little about the Princess Cruises’ Experience. I would describe it as elegance with a bit of UK sensibility. The chad and I are in an inside stateroom on Deck 12 (Aloha) onboard Crown Princess. The room has plenty of storage. In fact there is an open area which would normally be a closet on other cruise ships but serves a wonderful purpose for storing luggage out of the way. However there is also plenty of room under the beds as well for some of our luggage. Yes once again, we managed to over pack! The beds are really comfortable. The shower is small and has a shower curtain that has become quite friendly with me.
Take me down to Stingray City
Take me down to StingRay City, where the water is blue and the rays are pretty! With apologies to Guns –n- Roses, we finally made it to Stingray City off the shores of Grand Cayman. This is our fourth trip by cruise ship to Grand Cayman. The first two stops were missed due to choppy waters. The third time we were here, we made it on island, but it was too choppy to go do anything.
Valentines Day onboard Crown Princess
It’s Valentine’s Day onboard Crown Princess. This morning I watched over 300 couples renew their wedding vows presided over by Captain Andrew (Andy) Proctor. I ran into Trista and Ryan Sutter from The Bachelorette on my way from lunch to drop the Chad back off at the kid’s club. She is in the 3-7 range known as “Pelicans”. She loved the Turtle she received named ‘Timmy’. She asked if we could go see the Turtles while on Grand Cayman.
