The beginning of the final day at sea
My watch says it is 9:14 a.m. I am sitting in a deck chair somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. I have a view of the H20 Zone Water park on Freedom of the Seas, and my daughter is lounging in a hot tub. It is rather windy on deck, but life is grand!
I have been up since 6:30. I was one of about 10 people gathered around the aft on deck 12 this morning to watch the sunrise over the ocean. I walked through the ship from bow to stern taking pictures along the way. Due to the slowness of the internet on-board, I will save most of my photographic tour for future blogs.
I do want to share that my daughter had a chance to make her debut in a Royal Caribbean production. For the fantastic production called “Once Upon a Time”, a journey through fairy tales set to more modern music, children from 6-8 could sign up for one of five slots in the opening. They walked out on stage and kept their back to the audience. Willy Wonka came out and sang a bit to them and then they stepped into the story book.
Because it was PJ night in the kids club, we first went to the pre-dinner show at 7pm (finishing our formal night dinner in record time), changed and then she got to go on stage. From there it was off to the kid’s club and I was back at the Casino.
As luck would have it, I am now coming home with the same amount I left with and was able to pay for my excursions. I call that being ahead!
I hope to have one final report tonight. Someone is quite ready to get back home to see her mom and someone else is ready to see his wife! I am thinking we will be doing Express walk-off departure around 6:30 tomorrow morning to go ahead and get on the road. But that is tomorrow. We still have a full day ahead of us. Again I want to thank you for taking this virtual cruise with us.
