I wait all night for calls like these
Hey hello there, how’s it going?
I know I have promised to write more, but I have been busy. I know we are all, but I need to get better about keeping you up to date.
Since we last talked, I decided on a cell phone. I went with the Motorola Q9h Global from AT&T. I wanted 3G and the ability to use it around the world. I signed up for a low minute plan to begin, but I am sure I will be adding to my minutes.
I met with an accountant last Thursday. I have decided to engage his services for both our corporate and personal tax preparation. He recommended buying QuickBooks, and I have spent the last few days figuring out that program. A neighbor and mother of one of the girls my daughter plays with knows that program well and helped me with the learning curve. I wanted to be sure I was entering in receipts correctly at the beginning before I had 100′s of entries. I like that the bookkeepers at my accountant’s office can log in remotely and check my numbers and recommend deductions!
Last weekend, we had our good friends over for dinner. Her and her husband had opened a gymnastics facility and had been successfully growing the business over the past two years. Her advice and counsel were invaluable as we continue on this journey. I might have her convinced it would be a good idea to put together a group cruise. Heh!
Yesterday I spent the day going over the “intent to purchase” franchise agreement from the current franchise holder. We faxed documents back and forth for signatures which was then faxed to the franchise main headquarters. We should complete the transaction by Friday June 11th.
In other news, we opened up a separate operating account at our bank. Since the franchise takes its monthly fee from and pays commission via draft, we felt it best to have that separate from our capital account. Should there be any security breaches, we don’t want our entire savings wiped out. I love the fact that I am working with a small local bank who had only to ask the manager if what we wanted to do would be permitted.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July. I wish you all a very happy Independence Day and look forward to speaking with you again.
