Normal folks doin' business in the normal way
Today was Father’s Day, and the family and I headed up to the neighborhood pool. We spent about three hours playing in the water, snacking on some club grub and enjoying the sun. One of the girls that went to pre-K with my daughter was up there with her sister and dad. Her dad happens to be a VP of field operations for a rather large partnership of Domino’s Pizza franchises.
Realizing that he knows the area and knows the business communities, I thought it might be a good idea to talk to him for a bit. He remembered me from the gym as well so it was not exactly a cold call. We have made tentative plans to talk about our different businesses and share ideas after the 4th of July. We might not be marketing to the same people, but certainly I can learn from someone who knows the movers and shakers in business around where I live.
One little bonus was as we ended our informal at the pool talk is that he mentioned that his wife and he have been thinking of a short cruise around Thanksgiving.
I am going to love this adventure we are beginning!
